4.4 Technical data
For technical data of the X-ray tube refer to drawing Z-1.
For technical data of the X-ray tube housing assembly refer to drawing Z-2.
4.5 Filtration
The minimum total filtration value of the X-ray tube housing assembly is 2.5 mm Al equiva-
lent (related to half the rated voltage according to IEC 60522).
Thus it complies with international regulations.
An additional filter plate of 1.7 mm Al which can only be removed by special tools is part of
total filtration.
Inherent filter value: 0.8 mm Al equivalent.
WARNING
It is only allowed to remove the additional filter plate of 1.7 mm Al when the
manufacturer of the used X-ray system guarantees a minimum total filtration
of 2.5 mm Al equivalent.
The filter value is indicated on the type label of the X-ray tube housing assembly.
4.6 Collimation near the focus
Collimation near the focus is effected by a lead aperture plate which depends upon the
X-ray tube installed since the anode angles of the different X-ray tubes may vary. This lead
plate reduces scattered radiation.
Caution!
In case the field of radiation actually needed for applications is smaller than the one
limited by the lead plate installed by the factory, the lead plate has to be exchanged.
Philips has to be contacted.
4.7 Position of the cable sockets with respect to the central
beam
The position of the cable sockets with respect to the central beam is defined with 90 °
(standard value). If it is not 90 °, the position is defined by an abbreviated designation, e.g.
"180 °".
It reflects the angle between cable socket and central beam, measured clockwise, with the
X-ray tube housing viewed from the cathode side and the cable sockets pointing vertically
upwards.
