Maintenance Works
Oil change
Danger
Risk of burns due to hot oil or hot parts of
the plant. Allow pump to cool down for 15
minutes before oil change.
Note
Please dispose off used oil only in the col-
lection points provided for them. Please
hand over old oil, if any, only at such plac-
es. Polluting the environment with used oil
is a punishable offence.
1 Oil container lid
2 Oil drain screw
Keep a collection basin for old oil ready.
Remove the lid of the oil container.
Unscrew the oil drain screw and collect
used oil.
Replace O Ring 11x2 (order no: 6.362-
458) and turn in the oild drain screw.
Pour the oil into the oil container till the
mark MAX.
Close the oil container with the lid.
Deliver the old oil to the respective col-
lection centres.
Decalcify the heating coils
If the softening equipment (optional) does
not operate for a longer period of time, then
there will be lime scale in the equipment.
The following interruptions can occure by
lime scales:
larger pipe line resistance,
–
lesser heat transvertion at the heat ex-
–
changer,
Interruption by lime scaled parts.
–
In oder to decalcify, and to protect the envi-
ronment, only approved agents are to be
used (agents with mark of conformity). High
pressure equipment shall be decalified with
the agent provided by Kärcher.
Danger!
Only individuals , who were instructed by
Kärcher, are allowed to decalcify the equip-
ment. Danger of explosion because of
flamable gases! Do not smoke during the
decalcifation, make sure there is enough
fresh air. Danger of chemical burn because
of acid. Wear secutity glasses and gloves.
Disconnect the hand blowing gun and
place the hose at the used water shaft,
so that the water can flow freely.
Put the hot water temperature at 40 °C .
Close the water input.

Start the washing program with hot wa-
ter, until the floating container of the
fresh water is almost empty.
Put 0,5 liter of decalcifying agent into
the floating container of the fresh water.
Open the water input until the floating
container of the fresh water is filled.
Start up the equipment and let the
agent take effevt. Repeat this proce-
dure every 4...5 minutes, until the float-
ing container of the fresh water is
almost empty.
Open the water input, and to rise, let the
washing program run for 5 minutes us-
ing hot water.
Connect the blowing gun to the high
pressure hose.
Clean the fuel container
Caution
Danger of damage to the fuel pump. Do not
interchange the forward and backward flow
pipes for fuel. This can cause the fuel
pump to dry run and get damaged.
Pull out the fuel hoses on the fuel pump.
Remove the fuel tank from the plant.
Rinse the fuel tank thoroughly (allow
the fuel tank rinsed with water to dry
properly).
Dispose off fuel residues according to
environment safety laws.
Electrode setting
The correct setting of the ignition elec-
trodes is very important for the burner to
function properly. The settings have been
indicated in the above drawing.

Troubleshooting
Danger!
There is danger of injury while working at
the equipment.. Concerning all works
disconnect the input water, close the
water supply,
disconnect the power supply, shut off
the customer emergency main switch,
and secure, that it can not be turned on.
Notice
If the main power supply is interrupted
(main power supply interruption, customer
emergency off main switch is put to „0") the
clock in the control head of the base ex-
changer will stop and must be readjusted.
Danger!
danger of injury because of possible dam-
aged parts of the high pressure jet, danger
of burns because of hot equipment parts..
When working, while the equipment is open
take special care, and obey all safty notic-
es!.
The following parts are possible to be hot-
ter than 50 °C:
exhaust pipe and exhaust opening
–
Burner inclusive flow-type heater
–
cylinder head of the high pressure
–
pump
high pressure hose
–
Who may take care of interruptions?
Operator
–
Performances containing the notice
"operator" may only be performed by in-
structed individualls, who are able to
operate and service high pressure
equipment.
Electrician
–
Individuals with an education in the
electric field.
Maintenance
–
Performances with the notice "mainte-
nance" may only be performed by the
Kärcher- Maintenance-Mechanics.
Fault indication
At the operating panel
1 Contol light flame indicator, tempera-
ture limiter
2 Control light water softener empty (op-
tional), regeneration (optional)
In the washing period display
If the lower washing period display blinking
red, then an interruption is shown at the
control circuit.
