FUEL AND FUEL TANK
Fuel
The engine runs on unleaded gasoline with an octane rating above 86. Using unleaded gasoline reduces the possibility of carbon deposit formation and
extends the life of the engine. Never pour used or contaminated gasoline or a mixture of gasoline and motor oil. Make sure the fuel is free of dirt and water.
Gasoline containing alcohol
Before using gasoline containing alcohol (mixed fuel), make sure that its octane number is at least as high as that recommended by the manufacturer. There
are two types of "benzohol". The first one contains ethanol and the second one contains methanol. Gasoline containing more than 10% of ethanol or 5% of
methanol must not be used. If the methanol content in the fuel mixture exceeds 5%, it may adversely affect the engine's performance and may damage
metal, rubber and plastic parts.
NOTE: Handle fuel with care as it will distort plastic and painted surfaces.
From time to time, it is normal to hear a slight knocking or noticeable pinking with the engine running.
If you hear a clatter or the engine becomes pink at constant speed with normal load, change the brand of gasoline. If these phenomena persist, contact the
dealer for assistance as the motor may be damaged.
