When uslng thls tool, baslc satety precautlons (listed below)
should always be lollowed to reduce the rlsk of flre and personal
lnjury.
r Wear snug fitting clothing which cannot be drawn into the blower
air intake. Remember that all of the air discharged from the
blower, first enters the intake. For this reason, do not wear chains,
straps, ties, or other loose-fitting articles.
. Wear a face mask or safety goggles for protection against solid
objects and dust. Even though discharge is directed away from
the operato( richochets and bounce-backs can occur. Fellow
workers must also wear eye protection.
. Long or continuous exposure to the noise level produced by a
blower may cause hearing impairment. Hearing protection de-
vices are available through your dealer.
. Keep all children and pets away while blower is being used.
. Do not keep gasoline or gasoline fuels indoors. Store gasoline
outdoors or in sheds isolated from living quarters. Keep fuel sup-
plies only in vented gasoline cans.
Do not smoke or bring sparks or flame near gasoline or fuel mix-
lure.
Keep all fuel supplies out of the reach of children.
Do all fuel mixing and pouring over bare ground only. Move at
least'10 feet (3 meters) from the fueling site and fuel supplies be-
fore you crank the engine.
Do not operate if there is a fuel leak. A leaking unit can cause
a fire.
. Do not blow in anyone's direction, as this blower can blow small
obiects at high speed.
. Maintain the unit per maintenance instructions in this owner's
manual. Do not attempt any disassembly, adjustment or repair
operations which the owner's manual says should be done only
by an auihorized servicing deaier. (lf improper tools are used to
remove the flywheel or hold it stationary during disassembly or
assembly operation, structural damage to the tl)ru/heel could oc-
cur which could subsequentty cause the flyrheel to burst.)
. Always hold machine as shown for blower operation or vacuum
operation. Do not touch the hot mutfler or cylinder.
. To prevent contact with the fan, never operate the unit without ei-
ther the inlet cover closed or the \racuum tubes installed. Do not
install vacuum tubes while engine is running.
o Do not operate vacuum without vacuum bag installed. Flying de-
bris could cause serious injury to operator and/or bystanders. Al-
ways close vacuum bag zipper completely before operating.
? To avoid injury to the operator or damage to the unit, do not vac-
uum rocks, broken glass, bottles or other similar obiects. To avoid
picking up robks, metal, glass, ect., always hold the engine higher
than the inlet end of the lacuum tube. Always point vacuum tube
downhill when working on a hillside.
. Do not vacuum burning or smoking materials such as discarded
cigars or cigarettes. Do not \iacuum ashes or cinders unless they
have been extinguished completely.
. Do not attempt to make repairs or remove obstructions from fan
housing while engine is running. Always stop engine and discon-
nect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting.
. Never operate unit without a spark anestor screen. (Located in-
side mutfler.)
