RDS Receiving
Notes when Using EON
¢ While receiving an FM station or AM
(MW/LW) station, the tuner does not
stand by for EON stations even if an
EON service is selected.
In this state, the selected service mode
indicator (TA, NEWS or NEWS/INFO)
goes off.
A message (such as "No EON") appears
if an EON station rarely broadcasts a
certain program.
"Weak signal" appears if the EON station
which the tuner automatically switched
to cannot provide RDS data due toa
weak signal.
"Returning" appears about four minutes
after a signal from an EON station
becomes weak, preventing the station
from providing RDS data. This indicates
that the tuner is attempting tore-tune the
EON station. The tuner then stands by
for another EON broadcast.
¢ If you want to record a program
uninterrupted by the EON feature, make
sure you turn EON off on the arnplifier.
This is especially important when you
use a timer to automatically start
recording at a certain time.
If you connect to the optional arnplifier
(Sony TA-F661R, TA-F561R, TA-F461R,
etc.), the amplifier automatically changes
the function mode from the current one
to tuner mode whenever the tuner
receives an RDS station.
