RDS Receiving
Searching for RDS Stations
by Program Type
This procedure shows you how to search
through all the stored RDS stations for a
specific type of program currently being
broadcast. The different types of programs
that you can select are described on page
52.
Notes
* For this function, you should store RDS
stations beforehand.
¢ The following procedure shows you how
to search for and tune in any type of
program currently being broadcast from
the RDS stations stored in the tuner.
However, if you want to tunein traffic,
news, or information programs as they
occur on the RDS network, use the EON
feature described on pages 58and 60.
The EON feature causes the tuner to
automatically switch to these programs
when they first start broadcasting.
1 Press MENU.
2 Rotate the TUNING/SELECT knob
until "PTY" appears on the display
and press ENTER.
"Select" appears.
3 Rotate the TUNING/SELECT knob
until the desired program type
appears and press ENTER.
The unit enters search mode. While
searching, "Search" and the program
type you selected are displayed
alternately and the unit receives each
PTY station for about 8 seconds.
4 When the station you warst to
listen to is received, press ENTER.
If you do not want the receivecd station,
press MEMORY/NEXT untilthe desired
station is received. Each timeyou press
MEMORY/NEXT,
the stationzna
higher preset code is received,
If the program type that you
select ends during PTY
scanning.....
"Different" appears on the display. If
another station is broadcasting the same
type of program, the tuner tures into it.
Otherwise the tuner returns t the
original station.
