Warning - risk of trapping!
Parts of the body or items of clothing could
become trapped in rotating or moving parts
when the drive system is in operation.

Fit the guard (item 2) at a distance of
< 5 cm from the flywheel
2. Slide the guard (item 1) over the intermediate flange
and attach it to the EPS mounting bracket.
3. Attach the Oldham drive flange (item 4) with the
centering piece to the intermediate flange.
Tightening torque: 95 ±2 Nm

The centering piece is included in the scope of deliv-
ery of the intermediate flange 1 685 700 140 (item 3).
4. Slide the guard ring (item 2) over the drive flange
onto the guard.
5. Attach the clamping flange (item 7) to the common
rail pump.
6. Insert the common rail pump with the clamping
flange in the clamping bracket (item 6) and secure.
7. Clean the groove in the drive flange and apply a
small quantity of lubricant.

Only use coupling elements (item 5) which are not
dirty and/or damaged.
8. Insert the coupling element (item 5) in the groove of
the drive flange (item 4).
9. Check whether the coupling element (item 5) moves
freely in the groove. If it is stiff, the coupling ele-
ment must be replaced.
10. Position the common rail pump on the EPS mount-
ing bracket.
11. Slide the common rail pump into the coupling ele-
ment (item 5), taking care to ensure that the cou-
pling element can still move freely in the groove.
12. Attach the clamping bracket (item 6) to the mount-
ing bracket by way of the two bolts.
13. Check again that the coupling element (item 5) is
free to move.
14. Position the guard ring (item 2) such that the drive
flange (item 4) is covered and there is no risk of
trapping. Then secure the guard ring.
