Starting test procedure

Warning - Risk of injury due to escaping test
oil or due to parts being thrown around!
If the hydraulic connection of the test
equipment and the common Rail Pump is
not made correctly, test oil can escape at
high pressure, or parts of the test equip-
ment can burst when starting the test. This
can lead to injurz or to material damage.
Before switching on, check that all the
hose lines on the test equipment and on
the Common Rail Pump are connected
correctly.
Do not open the anti-splash housing,
until the EPS drive has stopped.
Replace any leaking and defective
hoselines.
!
If a high-pressure hose connection is leaking, the
screw connection is not to be re-tightened. In the
event of a leak, unfasten the connection, clean the
sealing surface and re-connect the high-pressure hose.

Procedure:
1. In the system software, call up the desired test se-
quence in the "Component selection" dialog box.
2. Call up the measurement screen.
3. Select test step "1".
4. In the "Measuring functions" selection menu, acti-
vate the Automatic on/off function.
 The automatic symbol flashes in the operating
status display.
5. Start the test by pressing <F8>.
6. Set the inlet pressure for the pump at the pressure con-
trol valve. Observe the pressure gauge when setting.
7. Set the return pressure/overflow pressure for the
pump at the pressure control valve (refer to operat-
ing instructions for CRS 845 / CRS 845H tester set).
Observe the pressure gauge when setting.
i
If the return pressure/overflow pressure is too high
and cannot be set to the required value by way of
the pressure control valve, carefully open the return
cock at the support arm (refer to Fig. 9) until the
required value is attained. The pressure control valve
can then be used to set the exact value.
