The Fronius Converter converts inverter communication signals to the RS 232 level.

The RJ 45 socket of the Fronius Converter RS 232 box is connected to the
'Out' socket of an inverter via a patch cable
The RS 232 socket of the Fronius Converter RS 232 box is used to connect
to a 3rd party device
The RS 232 socket of the Fronius Converter RS 232 box supplies power to
the 3rd party device on pin 6 with a maximum 500 mA (DATCOM supply
voltage)
