Enabling the Lowest Latency Mode
1
Go to the 'System Setup' LCD menu in your Teranex AV, select the 'processing'
submenu and then select 'lowest latency.' You can also access this feature via the
Setup tab in the Teranex Setup application.
2
The Teranex AV will load the 'lowest latency' configuration for this conversion, which
will run at the minimal latency of 2 frames or less. Once selected, your Teranex AV
will operate in the lowest latency available for the conversion and features you want
to enable.
Audio Embedding
Embedding external analog or AES audio into your SDI or HDMI outputs is possible in the
Teranex 2D, Teranex 3D and Teranex AV. Connect your audio source and select the
corresponding input on the front panel, either "ANLG" or "AES." The Teranex will embed the
audio into your SDI and HDMI outputs.
In the Teranex AV, you may embed audio even if you do not have an active video input.
When no video input is detected, the Teranex AV will embed your external audio into internal
black or color bars, depending on the selection made in the "No Video Input" menu in the
Video Setup menu.
Teranex Processor Settings
Demonstrations are provided in this section to show you how to set your Teranex Processor for
each conversion type using the control panel buttons and LCD. Plus you can find out how to
use all the settings available to help you maximize the quality of your conversion. For example,
setting the FRC aperture to achieve the best motion quality in a standards conversion, or
choosing your desired aspect ratio for up or down conversion. With all the different settings
available you get many opportunities to improve the quality of your converted video. You can
use the clean cadence feature to clean up potential cadence issues, add noise reduction,
change video levels and more.
LCD Menu
The LCD menu is controlled by 8 soft buttons used to make your selections. The 8 buttons
are called soft buttons because their function changes with each menu displayed.
The rotary knob adjusts parameter values by turning clockwise or counterclockwise.
If a parameter 'default' setting exists, press the rotary knob to quickly reset it.
Home Button
The 'home' button toggles the LCD between the video display and the main menu.
Menu 1 and Menu 2 Buttons
These buttons save shortcuts to frequently used menu pages and settings.
To store a menu page:
1
Navigate to the menu page you want to save.
2
Press and hold 'MENU 1' or 'MENU 2' for 3 seconds.
The button will illuminate to indicate a saved page. Thereafter, when the button is pressed,
the LCD will switch directly to the saved page.
