TIP
If you need quick access to the 'output options'menu, you can assign this
menu page to the 'menu 1' or 'menu 2' buttons on the Teranex AV front panel.
Input
'Input' refers to the video input that you currently have selected on the front panel.
This may be SDI 1, SDI 2, HDMI or the fiber optic input, if installed. Video test patterns,
selected via the 'Home > Video > Test Patterns' menu, are available through the 'input'
selection.
Black
Press 'black' to switch the output to the internal black generator. No audio will be
output while in this mode.
Still
Press 'still' to display a saved still frame. If no still frame is present in memory, the 'still'
button will be grayed out and not selectable. No audio will be output while in this mode.
Freeze
Pressing 'freeze' will grab a screen capture of the current live video input. Selecting
another button, such as 'input' or 'still,' will switch the output to the newly selected
signal and will discard the freeze frame. No audio will be output while in this mode.
Transition Settings
The Transition Settings menu allows you to select a transition rate between 0 and
5 seconds, allowing you to cut or fade between video selections on the Output
Options menu.
A transition setting of 0 (zero) will perform a cut between selections.
When switching between 'input' and 'still,' setting a transition rate greater than
zero will produce a fade through black. For example, if the transition rate is set to 2
seconds, the fade from Source 1 to black will take 1 second and the fade from black
to Source 2 will take one second, producing an overall transition time of 2 seconds.
Audio present on Source 1 or Source 2 will fade out or in with the video at the
same rate.
A transition to 'black' will use the entire time set by the transition rate. If the rate were
set to 2 seconds, the fade to black would take the full 2 seconds. Audio present on
Source 1 will fade down with the video at the same rate.
