On safety
This chapter deals with your own safety and the
safety of the equipment operators.
Please read this chapter carefully before working
with the non-contact safety sensor T4000 Multi or
with the machine protected by the safety sensor
T4000 Multi in connection with the related
protective devices.
The national and international rules and regulations
apply to the use and installation, commissioning
and periodic technical inspections of the non-con-
tact safety sensor T4000 Multi, in particular
the machinery directive 2006/42/EC,
EMC directive 2004/108/EC,
Work Equipment Directive 89/665/EEC,
the safety regulations
as well as
the work safety regulations and safety rules.
2.1

Qualified safety personnel

The T4000 Multi non-contact safety switches are
only allowed to be placed in operation by qualified
safety personnel. Qualified safety personnel are
defined as persons who
have undergone the appropriate technical
training
and
who have been instructed by the responsible ma-
chine operator in the operation of the machine
and the current valid safety guidelines
and
who have access to these operating instructions.
