Commissioning and operation
output DIA of the safety evaluation device is also
set to HIGH (red LED DIA lights up) to serve as a
monitoring function. When the test input is reset,
the red LED DIA goes out. In "automatic Reset"
operating mode, normal operation starts imme-
diately; in "manual Reset" operating mode, the
RESET button must be pressed.
It is not necessary to test the internal function of the
safety sensor T4000 Multi since the device moni-
tors itself in real-time. Contact welding of an output
contact (relay output) will be noticed as soon as a
monitored protective device is opened. A cross-cir-
cuit between the safety-relevant relay outputs is not
recognized by the device.
7.2

Periodic technical checks

Maintenance work is not necessary. To ensure cor-
rect function over the long term, regular checks are
necessary.

7.2.1 Regular examinations

The operating personnel must check the non-con-
tact safety switch T4000 Multi at regular intervals
for
correct function
and
visible signs of tampering.
The following must also be checked at suitable
intervals
the safe mounting of actuators and read heads
(use the safety screws supplied),
the sealing of the cable entries on the read
heads,
the firmness of the cable connections on the
safety evaluation device
