Commissioning and operation
Before the machine or system protected using the
non-contact safety switch T4000 Multi is placed
in operation for the first time, it must be checked
and approved by qualified safety personnel. The
test must be documented.
After any change to the non-contact safety switch
T4000 Multi or its components, or to the
protective device monitored, or after test and
repair work, the safety function must again be
checked and approved by qualified safety
personnel. The test must be documented.
7.1 Tests before the initial
commissioning
The safety function test for the non-contact safety
switch T4000 Multi must be performed regularly
and comprises:
thorough check and observance of the
installation and mounting conditions (see section
4 "Mounting").
electrical functional check
The functional test can either
consist of cyclically opening each monitored
protective device during operation
or
the whole safety circuit can be tested by applying
24 V DC to the test input of the safety evaluation
device without opening the protective devices.
This switches off the safety outputs permitting the
whole safety circuit to be tested. The diagnostics
