WARNING:
Routine maintenance should only be performed by facility-authorized personnel.
Repairs, modifications, or upgrades must be performed by Hillrom authorized
personnel. Patient or caregiver injury or equipment damage can occur.
The Yellofins Apex™ requires an effective maintenance program. Allen Medical Systems,
Inc. recommends that you do annual preventive maintenance to make sure that the
Yellofins Apex™ has a long operational life.

Inc. if you need to repair or replace the Yellofins Apex™. Use the contact information from

3.6.2

Periodic Checks

Perform the periodic checks at least once annually. If the Yellofins Apex™ fails any of the
periodic checks, contact Allen Medical Systems, Inc. to repair or replace the Yellofins
Apex™. Use the contact information in "Device Maintenance:" on page 27.
Before you do the periodic checks, install the Yellofins Apex™ on a surgical table. See
"Initial Setup" on page 15.
Lithotomy Clamp:
1. Grasp and firmly squeeze the lithotomy
handle.
2. Move the Yellofins Apex™ through the full range of motion. Make sure that you do
not feel any binding or catching in the joint while you move the Yellofins Apex™.
• Raise the Yellofins Apex™ to the highest position.
• Move the Yellofins Apex™ from maximum adduction to maximum abduction
• Lower the Yellofins Apex™ to the lowest position.
• Move the Yellofins Apex™ from maximum adduction to maximum abduction.
