Remember to allow the vibrators to function for brief periods of
time during set-up. This prevents damage to the vibrator and struc-
ture in the case of anomalies.
Once the indicated controls have been carried out close the cover
definitively.
Check direction of rotation:
In applications where direction of rotation must be ascertained (Fig.30-B,
page 7):
- Remove a weight cover (Fig.30-A, page 7);
- Wear protective glasses;
- Power the vibrator for a brief period of time;
ATTENTION: in this phase ensure that no-one can touch or be
struck by the rotating masses.
- If the direction of rotation must be inverted, act on terminal board con-
nections, after having removed the power supply from the vibrator, re-
versing two phases.
- Reposition the covers, ensuring that the seals (OR) are correctly posi-
tioned and tighten the screw fastener.
4.1 VIBRATION FORCE ADJUSTMENT
ATTENTION: This operation must be carried out exclusively by spe-
cialised staff with the power supply disconnected.
MVSI-E, IM-E, VM-E, VMS-E, MVB-E, MVB-E-FLC, VB-E
- To adjust vibration intensity it's necessary to remove the weight covers
(Fig. 30, page 7).
- It is usually necessary to adjust the weights in the same direction in the
two ends (Fig.3, page 7). To allow exact adjustment of the weights,
the vibrators are equipped with a patented system that prevents the
adjustable weight to turn in the wrong direction (Fig.32, page 7).
- Unscrew the mobile weight screw fastener or nut (Fig.33, page 7). The
adjustable weights positioned at the two ends of the shaft must be po-
sitioned in a way to read the same value on the reference percentage
scale. The weights positioned at the two sides of the vibrator can only
be adjusted on two different values for particular machines and for spe-
cial uses.
- Once the eccentric weight has been taken to the desired value tighten
the screw fastener or nut using the dynamometric wrench (Fig.34, page
7) and repeat the same operation on the opposite weight (see the table
on page 84 for coupling torques)
- Once the operation on the two sides has been carried out, re-mount the
covers on the screws and washers paying attention that the seals are
correctly positioned in their houses (Fig.37, page 7).
MTF-E frame sizes 01-10-20-30-VRS (Fig.29, page 6)
To adjust vibration intensity it is necessary to remove the weight covers.
See figure 29, page 6:
1 = MTF vibrator with clamped eccentric weights
2 = MTF vibrator with fron fixed eccentric weights
S = Upper side eccentric weights group
I = Lower side eccentric weights group
D = Disc for the adjustment of the lower side eccentric weights group
respect to the upper group.
FORCE ADjUSTMENT OF THE UPPER SIDE WEIGHTS GROUP
Unscrew the adjustable weight (external) screw fastener or nut.
Rotate the adjustable weight up to read the desired value of the force on
the reference percentage scale.
Tighten the adjustable weight (external) screw fastener or nut.
FORCE ADjUSTMENT OF THE LOWER SIDE WEIGHTS GROUP
Unscrew the adjustable weight (external) screw fastener or nut.
Rotate the adjustable external weight up to read the desired value of the
force on the reference percentage scale.
Tighten the adjustable weight (external) screw fastener or nut.
For VRS types the lower eccentric weight group is just a single weight
with smaller lamellar weights screwed to it; the force adjustment can be
done removing the lamellar weights up to obtain the desired value.
ADjUSTMENT BETWEEN THE TWO GROUPS OF WEIGHTS
This allow to desplace the lower side eccentric weights group respect to
the to the upper group, with a desplacing angle readable on the gradua-
te disc, positioned on the upper side (D fig.29, page 6). Points 4 and 5
(Fig.29) represents the desplacement effect on the force direction.
For 2 poles MTF vibrators unscrew the lower weights fixing nut, remove
the adjustable external weight and rotate the internal weight changing the
position respect to the shaft key. On the inner graduate disc the displace-
ment angle, respect to the upper weights group, is readable. Re-position
the adjustable external weight and tighten the nut.
For 4 poles MTF vibrators unscrew the two lower weights fixing screws,
rotate the internal weight, on the inner graduate disc the displacement
angle is readable, respect to the upper weights group. Re-position the
adjustable external weight and tighten the fixing screws.
For MTF-VRS vibrators, uscrew the lower weight fixing screw, rotate the
weight and on the inner graduate disc the displacement angle is readable,
respect to the upper weights group. Tighten the fixing screw.
Adjusting the weights in the opposite direction (90° in anti-clockwise sen-
se), the direction of rotation of the vibrating machine and of the material
inside can be inverted.
Having completed the force adjustment re-assembly the weight cover
using the same screws and washers paying attention that the seals are
correctly positioned in their houses.
MTF-E frame sizes 00-40
Remove the weight cover (only frame size 00).
Unscrew the adjustable weight (external) screw fastener or nut that holds
the weight in place (Fig.35-A-B, page 7) or remove the lamellar weights
by unscrewing the nuts (Fig.35-A-C, page 7).
Once the eccentric weight has been set to the desired value, tighten the
fixing screw (Fig.36-A, page 7), or nut (Fig.36-B, page 7) with a dynamo-
meter wrench and repeat this operation on the opposite weight.
Re-mount the weight cover using the same screws and washers paying
attention that the seals are correctly positioned in their houses.
4.2 START-UP AND SHUTDOWN OF THE VIBRATOR DURING USE
Start-up takes place by always and only acting on the power supply
switch by positioning it in the ON position (insertion of the power supply
network).
The vibrator works.
Stop the vibrator by always and only acting on the power supply switch
by positioning it in the OFF position (disconnection of the power supply
network).
SECTION 5 – Maintenance of the vibrator
ITALVIBRAS vibrators have no particular need for maintenance.
Maintenance, repair and overhaul operations have to be carried out
in compliance with the instructions of this manual and in complian-
ce with the standards and laws in force in the country of use, for the
specific zone of use. For example:
European Union
- EUROPEAN COMMUNITY DIRECTIVE 94/9/EC
- CENELEC IEC/EN 61241-17, 61241-19.
International
- IEC 60079-17, IEC 60079-19.
Russia
- GOST R 51330.16-99, GOST R 51330.18-99, GOST R IEC 61241-1-
2-99.
other than all Standards and Law for potentially explosive atmo-
spheres in force in the country where the vibrator is used.
That is to say: for overhauls and repairs contact directly Italvibras
– Fiorano Modenese (Italia) or contact local Italvibras distributor
who will contact directly Italvibras – Fiorano Modenese (Italia).
The Series E vibrators have protection mode "e" (increased safety)
and thus they are characterized by safety distances between mo-
ving parts and therefore they are subjected to accurate preliminary
checks before manufacturing.
For Series E electric vibrators, in order to respect the belonging
category, for use in potentially explosive dust atmosphere, it is ne-
cessary to assure the respect of the mechanical protection IP66 of
