ABS

The ABS is a control system avoiding
wheels locking in case of emergency
braking and providing improved vehicle
stability during braking.
When brake is pulled, so during wheels
lock, tires slip on the road surface, thus
adversely affecting vehicle stability.
A position sensor (1) ≈reads∆ on phonic
wheel (2) √ integral with the vehicle wheel
√ the wheel status and wheel locking, if
any.
The signal is sent to a control unit (3) that
will adjust braking system pressure
accordingly.
NOTE
When the ABS is enabled, the
brake lever will vibrate.

The wheel anti-lock system does not
protect the rider from falling during
cornering. An emergency braking, i.e. with
vehicle leaned aside, handlebars turned,
on bumpy or slippery road surface or in
case of low adhesion, will lead to an
unstable condition, quite difficult to be
handled with by the rider. We thus strictly
recommend to ride safely, brake gradually
and remain alert at all times. Do not ride
fast in vain hope to be safe. When braking
while bending or turning, the motorcycle
is subject to physics laws even if equipped
with ABS.
When engine is started warning light (6)
remains on for about 3 seconds. If the
