¾ Always keep both hands on the drive
control levers.
¾ When driving never let go of the drive
control levers.
¾ Always move the drive control levers
by hand to neutral to slow or stop the
device.
¾ Always move the drive control levers
slowly. Abrupt and hasty movements
and excessively sharp curves may lead
to involuntary movements, the device
crashing and thus to serious accidents.
¾ Be particularly careful when reversing.
¾ If, when driving in a straight line, the
device veers to one side, or the device
does not stay in a neutral position and
moves slightly (creeping), switch the
device off, discontinue using it and
contact a service centre.
Note
To decelerate or stop the device, simultane-
ously and slowly move both control levers
into the neutral position [N] Ga .
Sit down on the driver's seat.
Î
Start the engine.
Î
Release the parking brake by pulling both drive
Î
control levers inwards into the neutral posi-
tion [N] Ga .
To drive away, actuate the drive control levers as
Î
follows:
Driving straight ahead Gb
Press the two control levers forwards evenly. The
Î
further they are pressed forwards, the faster the
device moves.
Driving forwards in a left turn Gc
Push both control levers forwards; the right control
Î
lever a little further than the left one.
Driving forwards in a right turn Gd
Push both control levers forwards; the left control
Î
lever a little further than the right one.
Note on taking corners
The greater the distance between the two
control levers, the tighter the corner taken.
Reversing in a straight line Ge
Pull both control levers backwards evenly. The
Î
further they are pressed backwards, the faster the
device moves.
Driving backwards in a left curve Gf
Push both control levers backwards; the right
Î
control lever a little further than the left one.

WARNING!
Driving backwards in a right curve Gg
Pull both control levers backwards; the left control
Î
lever a little further than the right one.
Performing a right turn around the axis – a 'zero
turn', or 'spot turn' G h
To stop the device, bring both control levers into
Î
the neutral position.
Push the left control lever forwards, while at the
Î
same time pulling back the right one.
Performing a left turn around the axis – a 'zero
turn', or 'spot turn' Gi
To stop the device, bring both control levers into
Î
the neutral position.
Push the right control lever forwards, while at the
Î
same time pulling back the left one.
Note on performing a zero turn
During a zero turn, one wheel rotates in the
forward direction, the other backwards. A
badly executed zero turn can damage your
lawn.
Right or left pivot turn
To stop the device, bring both control levers into
Î
the neutral position.
Depending on the direction, move one control
Î
lever forwards or backwards with the other one at
neutral.
Note
During a pivot turn, only one wheel rotates.
The neutral wheel is locked and may cause
damage to your lawn.
Slowing or stopping the device Ga
To stop the device, bring both control levers into
Î
the neutral position [N].
Switching the cutter deck on/off
(depending on the model)
The PTO switch actuates an mechanical clutch to
switch ON and OFF the cutters.
To switch the cutter deck on, pull the PTO switch
Î
.
To switch the cutter deck off, press the PTO switch
Î
.
Setting the cutting height A
The cutter deck has a height adjustment mechanism
with multiple settings.
The cutting height range for mowing is between
about 2.5 cm for the lowest cutting height (index
1 on the height-adjustment start knob [N]) and
11.4 cm for the highest cutting height (notch
