Personnel Qualification
Danger
To prevent any risk for health and safety the analysis of samples with the S8 TIGER, in-
cluding handling and/or preparation steps, must be entrusted only to persons who have
qualifications in accordance with their activities and functions and who, based on their
technical training, their knowledge and experience and their knowledge of the applicable
standards, are able to evaluate the work assigned to them and recognize possible hazards.
This also includes the knowledge of applicable accident prevention regulations, generally
recognized safety regulations, EC guidelines and country-specific standards and regula-
tions. Carefully read and follow all safety and handling instructions in the appropriate mate-
rial safety data sheets.
Laboratory Requirements
Careful room planning and completed pre-installation requirements are prerequisites for successful
installation and operation of the S8 TIGER. Bruker AXS recommends performing your room planning
and pre-installation with the assistance of a Bruker AXS Service Representative.
Area of Installation
The installation of the S8 TIGER spectrometer must be planned so that:
The spectrometer is accessible from the front
Cooling air can flow without restrictions (~ 40 cm (15 in.)) distance from the wall is recommended
If you have decided to install an external water chiller (for 3kW/4kW versions only) or an uninterrupti-
ble power supply (UPS), plan to provide space for them.
If automation with conveyor belt is planned, the spectrometer must be positioned so that the sample
magazine is accessible from the rear side.
The floor should be level and should have a suitable load capacity (see References).
