In this case, the actual temperature of the firing chamber must
be greater than the preheating temperature.
Switch quick cooling off by pressing the sensor button "
again.
Automatic activation:
If quick cooling should be activated automatically with the selected
program, you have to press the sensor button "Cooling stage"
in the firing parameter screen until quick cooling is displayed.

6.3 View function
(for soldering)
During soldering without vacuum it is permissible to move the
firing chamber upwards with the lift button " " and stop it with
the lift button " ", as to inspect the soldering material.
The soldering time (firing time) will be interrupted, and the screen
now switches automatically to the firing data screen. You can
now change the soldering (firing) temperature.
1. Press sensor button "Firing temperature".
2. Enter the new firing temperature code with the numeric
keypad
3. Press sensor button "Firing temperature" again.
4. Press the sensor button " ". The screen changes to the
program sequence screen.
5. Press the sensor button Lift " ".
The firing chamber closes again and the program continues.
After the temperature has been set, post-firing is possible for up
to three minutes. The post-firing time counts up from zero. Post
firing can be aborted at any time with the "Start/Stop" button.
Note: The View function can only be activated when tempering
or cooling is not activated. The temperature change is only visi-
ble in the actual value. The theoretical value remains unchanged.
6.4 Power failure backup
(sub-menu configuration section 4.5.1)
The Multimat2 Touch is equipped with an adjustable power
loss backup. This backup activates as soon as there is a main
power failure during a running firing program. The backup dura-
tion can be set from 1 – 20 seconds. If the downtime is shorter
than the backup time, the program will continue to run. At the
end of the program the following message appears: "E 07 –
There was a power failure".
If the downtime is longer than the backup time, the program will
be aborted and the following message is also displayed: "E 07 –
There was a power failure".
Note: Always check the firing result!
"
"is displayed in the firing curve
Adjust power failure backup
1. Press sensor button "M".
2. Press sensor button "Configuration".
3. Press sensor button "Backup time".
4. Set backup time with the numeric keypad between 1 and
20 seconds.
5. Press sensor button "M" until the previous program is
displayed.
6.5 Testing the firing chamber temperature
(with silver calibration set "silver sample manual",
REF D03 532 803)
The firing chamber temperature is precisely set in the factory.
Should checking the firing chamber temperature become neces-
sary for any reason, please proceed as follows:
Required items:
• 1 Dentsply silver sample carrier
• 1 piece of silver wire – diameter: 0.3 mm, length: 37 mm
Procedure:
• Allow furnace to heat through for approx. 1 hour at 600 °C.
• Place silver wire into the Dentsply silver sample carrier.
• Reset calibration offset (see section 4.5.2.1).
The following data are saved as special programs under
"silver sample", program number 375:
Preheating temperature
650 °C
Predrying
0 minutes
Drying
0 minutes
Preheating
3 minutes
Vacuum level
0 hPa
Heating rate
120 °C/min
Firing temperature
961 °C (melting point of the silver wire)
Vacuum time
0 minutes
Firing time
1 minute
Tempering temperature
0 °C
Tempering
0 minutes
Cooling stage
0
1. Open firing chamber and place sample carrier with silver wire
centrally onto the firing platform.
2. Start test program "Silver wire calibration".
3. If after completion of the program the silver wire has started
to melt along its upper third, i.e. a bead has formed on the
wire surface, then the temperature is correct (with an accu-
racy of ± 2 °C).
4. If the silver wire surface has not started to melt, then the firing
chamber temperature is too low. In this case, repeat the test
program – each time with a temperature increase of 3 °C –
until the required melting effect on the surface of the silver
wire is achieved.
5. If the silver wire has melted altogether, then the firing cham-
ber temperature is too high. In this case, repeat the test
program – each time with a new length of silver wire and a
temperature reduction of 3 °C – until the required melt effect
on the surface of the silver wire is achieved.
