7.3.4 Notes on installation

The sensor connecting cable must not be in-
creased in length. Inline connection not permitted.
Actuator and sensor must be attached so that:
– The distance between the sensing faces is less
than or equal to the switch-on distance 0,8 x
S (see Technical data) with the safety guard
ao
closed.
– They are not used as a mechanical stop.
– They are positively connected to the safety
guard; e.g. by using the enclosed safety screws.
When using the read head in potentially explosive

atmospheres
connector when the device is electrically isolated.
Only undertake the work if there is no potentially
explosive atmosphere present and the system is
switched off.

7.3.5 Safety precautions

With flush installation of the sensor and/or actua-
tor, the switching distance will change depending
on the installation depth and the material of the
safety guard.
The safety guard must be designed so that the

allow for a gap that will increase the possibility of
exposure to the hazard.
The relay outputs are safely deactivated, even in the
case of an internal component failure, at the safe
switch-off distance S

Only T4000-1RBB01, T4000-DNBC and T4000-1KBB have an ATEX
marking and are allowed to be used in potentially explosive atmospheres.
