1 Foreword
Dear customer,
We would like to thank you for your trust and the purchase of our quality product.
The SERVOX
®
digital XL speech aid complete set will be referred to as the SERVOX
further course of this instruction manual.
This instruction manual is intended for patients, relatives and medical staff.
The SERVOX
®
digital XL can be used in the home and clinical setting by patients from about 2.5 years
of age. Children between 2.5 and 12 years of age or patients with cognitive disorders should only use
the SERVOX
®
digital XL under the supervision or with the support of relatives or healthcare professio-
nals. Use of the SERVOX
digital XL can be practised within the framework of logopaedic care.

This manual does not replace comprehensive speech therapy.
The SERVOX

digital XL must be used in line with the descriptions in this instruction manual and in
accordance with the recognised rules of medicine.

1.1 Intended purpose
The SERVOX
®
speech aids offer patients, who have lost their voice due to injury, illness or surgical
removal of the larynx, the opportunity to quickly regain the ability to communicate.
The SERVOX
speech aids can also be used by patients who are temporarily voiceless due to a trache-
®
otomy, who have to protect their vocal folds due to illness or who are connected to a respirator.
Even patients who are comfortable using the oesophageal voice can use the SERVOX
a variety of scenarios, e.g. for making phone calls, at business meetings, when they are tired, sick or
very stressed, in an emergency, or in settings where speaking in a loud voice is essential.

digital XL may only be used for the applications listed above. The manufacturer assumes

no liability for all other applications and resulting damages of any kind.
Note
SERVOX
®
digital XL and the accessories contained in it, such as screw caps or oral tubes with
adapters, are single-patient products and must not be reused on additional persons. There is a
risk of infection.
