10. Place a glass container, that will hold 6 cups, into the freezer to chill. Putting
the dessert in it as soon as the freezing process is complete will help delay
the melting process.
11. Once the dessert is the thickness you desire, turn the switch to the off position.
The unit may stop on its own once the mixture is frozen. This is a built in
feature that will keep the motor from over heating. This may occur when the
dessert is a thick consistency or the ice cream maker has been running too
long.
12. IMMEDIATELY remove the cover and paddle. Using oven mitts to hold the
freezer bowl, use a rubber spatula or wooden utensil to remove the dessert
from the freezer bowl placing in a chilled container. Avoid using metal utensils
as they may damage the freezer bowl.
13. The dessert may be eaten right away or placed in an air tight container in your
freezer for up to 2 hours to enhance the flavor. Use the frozen dessert within
two hours for optimal quality. Freezing desserts for a long period of time may
lessen the food quality by forming large ice crystals and loss of flavor.
14. Following cleaning instructions, clean the ice cream maker after each use.
15. Store freezer bowl in the freezer for future use.
HINTS FOR FROZEN DESSERTS
• When preparing mixtures that require cooking, it is best to prepare at least 4
hours in advance. This will allow it time to chill in the refrigerator.
• Most mixtures will keep in the refrigerator for several days before freezing.
However, be sure to thoroughly stir or shake before using.
• When preparing mixtures that do not require cooking, use an electric mixer or
blender for best results.
• Cream, sugar, eggs, and milk are the key ingredients in ice cream recipes.
Substitutions may be made with similar ingredients to suit your taste and dietary
requirements. However, heavy whipping cream which has a higher fat content
(36%) will result in a more creamy texture and taste than creams with a lower fat
content such as half & half (10%). Lower fat content ingredients will result in ice
cream with a coarser texture.
• When placing the frozen dessert in your refrigerator freezer to enhance the fla
vor, place in an air tight container. Place a piece of plastic wrap directly on top of
the dessert before putting lid on. This will help to preserve the flavor and texture.
We do not recommend leaving the dessert in the freezer for more than 2 hours.
After this time the quality and taste will lessen.
• Artificial sweeteners can be used as a sugar substitute. They must be added to
cool or room temperature mixtures. If the recipe calls for sugar to be dissolved
over heat, omit this process. Just stir the sweetener into the cool mixture until dis
solved. Use the following guide when using artificial sweeteners:
Equal®Artificial Sweetener = Granulated Sugar
1 packet = 2 teaspoons
1Vz packets = 1 tablespoon
6 packets = 1/4 cup
8 packets = 1/3 cup
12 packets = 1/2 cup
18 packets = 3/4 cup
24 packets = 1 cup
