9.3 The Measuring module

The module communicates with the controller via IO link. All outputs (valves) are controlled via IO link.
Moreover, the module has an indicator light that is IO-link-capable.
The position value of the cylinder is also transmitted via IO link. The specific settings or address allocations
can be found in the manufacturer's documentation.
• Danger of crushing
There is a danger of crushing in the entire area of the quarter turn actuator and of
the tactile measurement. Never reach into the area of the quarter turn actuator or
measuring cylinder during operation.
• Switch off the power supply!

Switch off both the operating power and the control power before working on
the circuit.
Only reach into the setup when it is at a complete standstill.
Be aware of potential overtravel times for the actuators.
The Measuring module can measure a filling level or
the height of MPS workpieces.
A cylinder with an IO link linear potentiometer is
installed on a profile column. The zero point is
determined by advancing the cylinder to the
measurement table.
If a test piece is placed on the measurement table, the
cylinder moves along the workpiece in order to
determine the height or into the workpiece in order to
determine the filling level.
The linear potentiometer has a path resolution of
0.05 mm.
The quarter turn actuator with mid-position is located
in the middle position at initial position.
