Using the Compressed Air Line Breathing Apparatus

From time to time while using, check the seal seating of the full face mask (see the operating manuals for the full
face mask) and the lung governed demand valve (see the operating manuals for the lung governed demand
valve).
The air supply and hose to the wearer(s) must be monitored by an assistant or safety officer, while
watching the medium pressure gauge.
If the compressed air supply is from a compressed air cylinder:
The cylinder pressure should be checked from time to time on the high pressure gauge. If the cylinder pressure
falls to the warning signal activation pressure, a whistle sound (withdraw signal) is activated and stops when
cylinder pressure reaches about 10 bar.
If the whistle sound is activated, a withdrawal must be executed immediately. It may be decided to withdraw
earlier, irrespective of warning signals. With longer exit paths, the time at which withdrawal is executed can be
judged by the indication on the high pressure gauge.
For technical specifications, see paragraphs 5.2.1/5.2.2).

After Using the Compressed Air Line Breathing Apparatus

Detach the lung governed demand valve from the full face mask (see operating manuals for the lung
governed demand valve).
Take off the full face mask (see operating manuals for the full face mask).
Close off all compressed air supplies. Remember to close the valve of each compressed air cylinder
Activate the flushing function of the lung governed demand valve until air flows out and the apparatus is
depressurised.
With DSL or MASS ASV compressed air line breathing apparatus:
Disconnect the medium pressure line of the self-contained breathing apparatus from the ASV (Fig. 1 ->
Connection "3")
(see operating manual for the self-contained breathing apparatus).
Loosen the waist belt and put the apparatus down.
Do not throw it off!
Detach the compressed air supply hose from the connector and from the compressed air supply (see
paragraph 8.1).
- Put down the self-contained breathing apparatus
