Operation
DANGER
Risk of burns, risk of crushing!
Only use the vehicle if all panels are attached.
DANGER
Long hours of using the appliance can cause circulation
problems in the hands on account of vibrations.
It is not possible to specify a generally valid operation time,
since this depends on several factors:
Proneness to blood circulation deficiencies (cold, numb
–
fingers).
Low ambient temperature. Wear warm gloves to pro-
–
tect hands.
6.1
Drive mode
6.1.1
Drive pedal
The accelerator pedal controls the speed of the vehicle.
The travel direction is set with the direction lever on
the steering wheel!
6.1.2
Parking brake
The parking brake acts on the rear wheels and uses a
sheathed cable. If the braking power starts to decline, it
can be readjusted on the lever with a setting screw. The
brake shoes should be replaced only by Customer Ser-
vice.
6.1.3
Brake pedal
The brake pedal activates the brake system of the rear
wheels. The correct setting of the brakes takes place auto-
matically, no adjustment work is required.
6.1.4
Driving
Note
Be sure to move the driving direction lever to the "N"
(neutral) position before switching on the device, oth-
erwise the driving function will be blocked.
The flashing beacon is automatically activated when
the device is switched on.
Before switching on, sit on the driver's seat to activate
the seat contact switch.
54
A firm grip impedes blood circulation.
–
Continuous operation is worse than an operation inter-
–
rupted by pauses.
In case of regular, long-term operation of the device and in
case of repeated occurrence of the symptoms (e.g. cold,
numb fingers) please consult a physician.
The magnetic brake stops the vehicle when the accelera-
tor pedal is released.
ATTENTION
ATTENTION
Occasionally check the braking effect of the parking brake;
the braking effect is OK if the vehicle can be stopped on an
incline of 12%.
Actuation takes place hydraulically, therefore always make
sure that there is a sufficient amount of brake fluid in the
storage tank.
Switch the device on with the key-operated switch.
Release parking brake.
Operate the direction lever
Press accelerator pedal down slowly.
Control the driving direction with the steering wheel.
When reversing, there must not be any risk for third par-
ties, have somebody marshal the driver if necessary.
6.1.4.1
Driving method
The travel speed is steplessly regulated with the accel-
–
erator pedal.
6.1.4.2
Braking / stopping
Release the drive pedal, the machine brakes automat-
ically and stops.
For a stronger braking effect or in case of an emergen-
cy, actuate the brake pedal.
6.1.4.3
Driving over obstacles
ATTENTION
Objects or loose obstacles may not be run over or pushed.
Stationary obstacles may be driven over only when a
suitable ramp is used.
