Commissioning
– The pre-commissioning test confirms compliance with the safety
requirements laid down in the national and international regula-
tions, in particular machinery and equipment use directives.
– Test of the effectiveness of the protective device on the machine
in all modes in which the machine is capable of operating.
– The operating personnel of the machine protected by the
protective device must be instructed by specialist personnel of the
machine operating company before beginning work. The said
instruction is the responsibility of the machine operating company.
2. Routine testing of the protective device by qualified personnel:
– Test based on national regulations, at the intervals they stipu-
late. These tests serve to reveal modification or manipulations of
the protective device relative to the initial commissioning stage.
– The tests must be conducted any time major modifications are
made to the machine or the protective device, as well as when-
ever resetting or repair work is carried out in the event of damage
to the housing, front screen, connecting cables, etc.
3. Daily testing of the protective device by authorised and instructed
personnel:
Test of the protective fields
On the M 2000
Daily or prior to each work session by the operating company, by fully
masking each light beam.
When this is done only the red LED must light.
On the C 2000
Slowly run the test rod (see rating plate, "Resolution") through the
protective field at three points:
1. Protective field limits/markings close to the sender (access
opening)
2. Protective field limits/markings close to the receiver
3. Protective field limits in the middle between the sender and the
receiver
When this is done only the red LED must light.
Devices without restart inhibit:
If any of the green LEDs on the receiver light up, the machine must
not be used.
