The external device monitoring function remains active even after the
device has been switched off and on again. It can only be deactivated
by means of the reset procedure (see Section 3.4).
After the reset procedure has been attempted, the external device
monitoring switches the OSSD outputs off again if the external device
monitoring does not receive any response from the switching devices
within 300 ms.
