Inspection:
Shuttle (SH)
Inspect the Shuttle per the inspection procedures in the Railok 90
Rigid Rail Safety System Shuttle Instructions (5903086).
Rail Sections (SR, LR)
Inspect all Rail sections for damage, corrosion, or rust. Look for
cracks, bends, or wear that could affect strength and operation of the
system.
Inspect Ladder Rails for damaged, loose, or missing Ladder Rail
Rungs (LRR). Retighten or replace rungs as necessary.
Inspect Ladder Rail Rungs for correct torque (see Parts Table LR &
LRR).
In climatic locations where ice formation is possible, inspect Rail
Sections for excessive ice that may impede Shuttle travel. Clear rails
of ice as necessary.
Rail Clamps (RC)
Inspect Rail Clamps for damage, corrosion, or rust. Look for cracks,
bends, or wear that could affect strength or operation of the system.
Inspect Rail Clamp fasteners for correct torque (see Parts Table RC).
Rail Gates (SRG, LRG)
Inspect Rail Gates for damage, corrosion, or rust. Look for cracks,
bends, or wear that could affect strength or operation of the system.
Inspect Rail Gates for proper operation. Gate mechanisms should
allow insertion of the Shuttle onto the rail end, but should prevent
the Shuttle from sliding off the rail end.
Inspect Rail Gate fasteners for correct torque (see respective Parts
Tables: SRG, LRG).
Brackets (LRB, FRB,
Inspect Brackets for damage, corrosion, or rust. Look for cracks,
SPB, AIB, LPB)
bends, or wear that could affect strength or operation of the system.
Inspect Bracket fasteners for correct torque (see respective Parts
Tables: LRB, FRB, SPB, AIB, LPB).
Rest Platform (RP)
Inspect Rest Platform components for damage, corrosion, or rust.
Look for cracks, bends, or wear that could affect strength and
operation of the system.
Inspect Rest Platform Hinge and Locking Latch for smooth operation.
Light machine oil may be applied to the Hinge and Locking Latch
if necessary. Do not use excessive oil or allow oil to contact rail
clamping surfaces.
Inspect Rest Platform fasteners for correct torque (see Parts Table
RP).
Label (LBL)
Inspect the System Label. The label should be present near the
bottom of the system and fully legible (see Parts Table LBL).
IMpORTANT: Extreme working conditions (harsh environment, prolonged use, etc.) may require increasing
the frequency of inspections.
