The first line
shows the system used, e.g. Alpha System, ProTaper, Profile, HERO, RaCe,
etc. (on the left).
The second line
shows the file type (on the right).
The third line
shows the reduction ratio of the contra-angle handpiece (on the left) and the
file speed (on the right).
The fourth line
indicates the value set for the torque (right) in Ncm.
A root canal symbol that fills itself with bars to indicate the distance of the file
tip from the apex of the root canal then appears on the left side of the
display.
Activating the apex locator
Always activate the apex locator after switching the unit on or changing the
apex locator cable.
To do this, you must contact the file clamp and the contra-angle handpiece or
the mucosal electrode once.
After approx. 2 seconds, the following reading appears on the display:

and a short acoustic signal sounds.
Following activation, the root canal symbol is displayed as shown below:
