Language selection:
Select the "Language selection" menu as previously described.
The following message appears on the display:

To save your settings and automatically quit the menu, press the "Save" key.

You can quit the menu without saving your settings at any time by pressing
Set-Up
the "Set Up" key.

Integrated apex locator function


When performing the APEX measurement, wear appropriate insulated
gloves. It is advisable to use a cofferdam when performing such treat-
ments.


ATTENTION! The apex locator function is possible without a file
clamp only with an ENDO 6:1 contra-angle handpiece from Sirona. If
the readings on the apex locator display are not stable, please check
the result by using the file clamp.

To improve insulation of the contra-angle handpiece, we recommend using
an insulating sleeve (ref.: 63 24 631)
CAUTION
Insulating sleeves are only used once. Change the insulating sleeve after
each patient.

When using files with a plastic shaft, e.g. alpha files, the apex locator
function cannot be performed via the contra-angle handpiece.

NOTE
The apex locator function should be used only to support the root canal prep-
aration process. Although the number of X-ray images required can be re-
duced with SIROEndo Pocket, an X-ray image still must be taken in any case
in order to determine the preparation depth.
Clinical evaluation based on a sound knowledge of the anatomy of root canals
is important when interpreting the results.
