DANGER: It is prohibited to use the supertirfor™ wire rope as a
sling by running it around an object with the hook attached to the wire
rope loop (figure 12, page A: prohibited setup ; figure 13, page A: normal
use).
IMPORTANT: The supertirfor™ machines should be anchored
by connecting them to the fixed anchoring point with an appropriate
capacity sling.
The TU16H model is anchored by a hook equipped with a safety latch
(figure 18, page B). In all cases, the machines must be anchored so that
the safety latch comes back to its closed position, bearing against the
hook nose (figure 18, page B). These safety rules also apply to the hook
used with the supertirfor™ wire rope.
The TU32H machine is anchored by a removable anchoring pin inserted
through the two lugs on the casing (figures 23 and 24, page B) and
locked by a pin equipped with a spring-ring with two positions: locked
(figure 25, page B) and unlocked (figure 27, page C).

6.2 Anchoring

6.2.1 Anchoring TU32H with pin (figure 23, page B)
To anchor the machine, proceed as follows (anchoring with pin):
1. Turn the spring ring of the anchoring pin safety pin to the locked
position (figure 27, page C).
2. Remove the safety pin from the anchoring pin.
3. Pull the anchoring pin to clear it (figure 24, page B).
4. Run the anchoring sling through the two lugs of the casing.
5. Push in the anchoring pin, engaging it again through the lug from
which it was disengaged.
6. Place the safety pin in the hole provided at the end of the anchoring
pin, pushing it fully in.
7. Turn the spring ring on the safety pin, making sure it is properly
locked on the anchoring pin to prevent removal of the safety pin.

6.2.2 Anchoring TU16H with hook

The standard TU16H is equipped with a hook with safety latch (figure 18,
page B). The safety latch, with integrated spring, is always maintained in
the closed position (latch in contact with hook nose).
To anchor the machine, proceed as follows:
1. Swivel the hook latch to the open position by applying pressure on
the end (hook nose side) and maintain it in this position.
2. Run the anchoring sling between the hook nose and the safety latch.
3. Release the latch to allow it to return to its original closed position.

6.2.3 Anchoring TU32H with optional hook

The TU32H can be equipped, optionally, with a hook with safety latch
(figure 26, page C).
For installation of the hook, proceed as instructed in § 6.2.1.
For anchoring, proceed as instructed in § 6.2.2.
DANGER: To ensure safe use of the machine, always make sure
that the anchoring components, hook or pin, are correctly locked before
any load is applied to the machine:
- TU16H: TU16H: safety latch in contact with hook nose (figure 18,
page B).
- TU32H with anchoring pin: spring ring locked on anchoring pin
(figure 25, page B).
- TU32H with optional hook: safety latch in contact with hook nose
(figure 26, page C).

7. Operating the machine

7.1 Checks before use

The following points should be checked before using the machine:
- anchoring,
- r am attachment fittings and brackets must be securely mounted,
- h ooks and safety pins on supertirfor™ machines must be in the locked
position,
- h ydraulic oil level of hydraulic power pack must be correct,
- o il and fuel levels of gasoline engine must be correct,
- e lectrical power supply must be compatible with electric motor,
- d irection of rotation of electric motor must be correct,
- a lignment between anchoring hook of supertirfor™ machine and load
to be pulled or lifted must be correct,
- w ire rope must be in good condition (see chapter 11: "supertirfor™ wire
rope").
DANGER: It is prohibited to operate the machine in the reverse
operating direction to the point where the end of the supertirfor™ wire
rope comes near to the casing.
IMPORTANT: It is prohibited to operate the machine in the forward
operating direction to the point where the sleeve of the supertirfor™ wire
rope hook comes into contact with the casing.

7.2 Start up the motor of the hydraulic power pack

7.2.1 Hydraulic power pack with electric motor

Connect the power connector to the appropriate power source.
Press and hold the pushbutton on the control unit (item 14, figure 1,
page 7).
IMPORTANT: Never block the button in the "on" position by an
external device.

7.2.2 Hydraulic power pack with gasoline engine

(Refer to gasoline engine manual appended).
Start up the engine by proceeding as follows:
1. Fill the fuel tank with lead-free regular gasoline with octane index
≥ 85.
2. Fill the engine crank case with motor oil in compliance with the
engine manufacturer's requirements.
3. Place the accelerator control (item 13, figure 1, page 7) at the
clockwise limit stop position (figure 38, page C).
4. Press the priming bulb three times (figure 39, page C).
5. Start up the engine using the cord starter, by pulling strongly on the
handle (page 7, figure 1, item 7).
Refer to the engine manufacturer's manual if you have any problems
starting up the engine.

7.3 Adjust the desired feed speed

Whenever a maneuver is stopped, the two jaws of the supertirfor™
machine automatically lock onto the supertirfor™ wire rope, with the load
equally distributed, and continuously engaged on these.
The forward and reverse lever movements are double acting; the load
is moved with each lever action in both of the ram movement directions.

7.3.1 One-channel model

On this model, operation, stopping and adjustment of the feed speed of
the supertirfor™ wire rope can be adjusted by turning the flow regulator
(see figure 29, item 1, page C).

7.3.2 Two-channel model

On this model, the speed is adjusted by turning the flow regulator (see
figure 31, item 1, page C). The operating speed of each ram can be
adjusted separately, if necessary, by acting on the handles provided for
this purpose (see figure 31, item 2 and figure 32, page C):
- Handle in horizontal position: flow rate is null.
- Handle in vertical position: flow rate is maximum.
If the "13 L/min" outlet is used, cover the "01" and "02" outlets (see
figure 30, page C) with the blanking covers. Only one return will be used;
the other one is blanked.
IMPORTANT: never connect a TU16H to a "13L/min" outlet.

7.3.3 Four-channel model

On this model, the speed is adjusted by turning the flow regulator (see
figure 31, item 1, page C). The operating speed of each ram can be
adjusted separately, if necessary, by actuating the handles provided for
this purpose (see figure 31, item 2 and figure 32, page C):
- Handle in horizontal position: flow rate is null.
- Handle in vertical position: flow rate is maximum.
