Setting up an additional LAN-connected computer
This section describes how to set up a computer so that you can use the machine that has
already been set up using another computer to connect to a wireless or wired LAN. This setup
procedure only requires settings to be performed on the client computer.
Important
Follow this procedure only when the machine has already been connected to a wireless or wired
LAN. If the machine has not been connected to a network yet, see "Setting up for use over wireless
LAN" on page 46 or "Setting up for use over wired LAN" on page 52 depending on your connection
type.
Note
If MAC or IP address filtering is configured to restrict access to the machine, make sure
beforehand to register those addresses of the computer you are setting up.
Make sure that the computer you are setting up is NOT connected to the machine via a USB
cable. This setup procedure does not involve connecting the USB cable.
For wired LAN connections, make sure that the machine is connected to the network with a LAN
cable.
1
Confirm that the screen shown on the right
appears.
Important
This step should follow from step 9 in "Installing the
Software" on page 42. If the Setup Preparations
screen has not displayed yet, go back to the procedure
in "Installing the Software" on page 42 to complete the
installation of the software.
2
Turn on the machine.
3
Click OK on the Setup Preparations screen.
4
Select Setup in the Canon IJ Network Tool pop-up menu.
Note
If the Canon IJ Network Tool does not start up automatically, select Applications on the Go menu,
double-click the Utilities folder, double-click the Printer Setup Utility icon, and then go to step 8.
If you are using Mac OS X v.10.2.8, double-click the Utilities folder, double-click the Print Center
icon, and then go to step 8.
