Humidifying the Gas Mixture

In order to reduce evaporation from the culture media, humidifi cation of the gas mixture is necessary.
• The built-in gas washing system optimizes the
humidifi cation.
• By fl owing the gas through the table plate,
the temperature and humidity of the gas are
maintained.
• Fill the gas washing bottles to 2/3 with distilled
water.

Purging

When the CO hoods are opened the gas mixture is

partly replaced with atmospheric air. It is necessary
to work rapidly and only lift the gassing hoods when
it is absolutely necessary. The atmospheric air must
be replaced with the correct gas mixture as quickly as
possible.
The regulating valve may be set to a higher fl ow rate for
some seconds and afterwards, must be turned back to
the lower value.
