– Release locking lugs -2- and clip -3- of the sill panel trim us-
ing the wedge -T10383/1- -arrow A-.
– Pull the sill panel trim -1- forwards off the side trim -arrow B-.
– Detach the sill panel trim.
Notes on installation
Installation is carried out in reverse order. Please note the fol-
lowing points:
Note
◆ If the clips for the trim remain in the mounting points in the
body, remove these clips and insert into the trim.
◆ Check the clips for damage or deformation and replace as
necessary.
5.24 Removing the lower left-hand section of
the A-pillar trim

5.24.1 Removing the bottom left-hand A-pillar
trim, A3, A3 Saloon, A3 Cabriolet
– Remove the side dash panel cover
– Remove the gap cover on the A-pillar
– Remove the left-hand sill panel trim
Left-hand drive vehicles
– Remove the bonnet actuating lever
– Unscrew the screw -2-.
Continue for all vehicles
– Unclip the lower section of the A-pillar trim -1- from the side
member and pull it back -arrow A-.
– Uncouple the lower section of the A-pillar trim at the bolt -ar-
row B- from the A-pillar and remove.
Notes on installation
Installation is carried out in reverse order. Please note the fol-
lowing points:
Tightening torque: 2.5 Nm
