The rear bench seat must NOT disengage from the omega
clips — risk of accident!
– If the rear bench seat disengages, the entire procedure must

5.4 Removing the rear seat backrests, A3
● The rear bench seat has been removed
– Equipment variant with backrest heating: detach the electri-
cal connector for the backrest heating.
– Remove the cover -1- for the centre support.
– Undo the screw -2-.
– Remove the retaining clip -3- from the centre support -4-.
– Release the left-hand rear seat backrest -5- and lift out of
the centre support -4-.
– Pull the left-hand rear seat backrest -5- out of the outer sup-
port towards the centre of the vehicle.
– Also release the right-hand rear seat backrest and lift out of
the centre support.
– Pull the right-hand rear seat backrest out of the outer sup-
port towards the centre of the vehicle.
Notes on installation
– Make sure that the electrical connectors are properly locked
into place and engagement can be heard.
Screw tightening torque: 9 Nm
