Examples, not exhaustive, of incorrect
operation, use or maintenance are:
- Forcing or breaking the devices for metering
the fuel;
- Use of fuel and/or engine oil not fulfilling the
characteristics shown in the chapter STARTER
/ FUELING;
- Use of not original spare parts, for example
spark plug, etc. ;
- Missing or improper maintenance of the
exhaust system, including incorrect timing of
maintenance for muffler, spark plug, air filter,
etc.
WARNING – Tampering with this engine
makes the EU emissions certification no
more valid

7.1 Safety Recommendations

WARNING
- Stop the engine and disconnect the spark
plug cap before any maintenance work.
Always wear safety shoes and protective
gloves.
- Remove any combustible materials from
the work area before doing maintenance.
- Before cleaning or doing maintenance
work, read the relevant instructions. Wear
s u i t a b l e c l o t h i n g a n d wo rk g l ove s
whenever your hands are at risk.
- Never use the machine with worn or
damaged parts. Faulty or worn-out parts
must always be replaced and not repaired.
Only use original spare parts: the use of
non-original and/or incorrectly fitted parts
will compromise the safety of the machine,
may cause accidents or personal injuries
and will relieve the manufacturer of all
obligations or liabilities.All adjustments or
maintenance operations not described in
this manual must be carried out by an
Authorised Service Centre, which has the
necessary expertise and equipment to
ensure that the work is done correctly
without affec ting the safety of the
m a c h i n e. O p e rat i o n s p e r fo r m e d i n
unauthorised centres or by unqualified
persons will void all forms of warranty and
all obligations or liabilities of the
manufacturer. In particular, you should
contact your Authorised Service Centre
i m m e d i a t e l y i f y o u e n c o u n t e r
malfunctions affecting the brake, the
engagement and stopping of the brake or
the drive engagement in forward or
reverse gear.
- The silencer and other parts of the engine
(e.g. cylinder fins, spark plug) become hot
during operation and remain hot for a
while after the engine is stopped. To
reduce risk of burns do not touch the
silencer and other parts while they are hot.
- Frequently check for the accumulation of
dry grass or similar materials, around the
engine and especially around the exhaust
pipe; carry out periodic cleaning and
remove even the smallest quantities of
such materials.
- Never modify the machine in any way.
- Replace safety devices as soon as they
become damaged or broken.
- Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tightened to
guarantee safe operating conditions.

7.2 Routine Maintenance

The following list is to help you maintain your
machine's safety and performance. It shows the
main maintenance and lubrication operations
and their frequency.
