6. Saturate a non-linting wipe with tap water.
7. Start at the monitor-end connector and wipe all surfaces of the product at least one time.
8. Visually inspect the product and repeat steps 6 and 7, if needed. If any part is not visibly clean, use a cotton swab
to clean between the grooves and narrow spaces.
9. Using clean wipes, dry all surfaces of the product.
Disinfecting the Cable and Lead Sets
Lay the cable and lead sets on a clean, flat surface. Position the connector end of the lead set or cable to ensure that no
liquid can enter the connector during disinfection.
If at any time during the procedure non-linting wipes become visibly soiled, discard soiled wipes and use more clean
wipes.
Use cotton swabs during the procedure, as needed, to disinfect and rinse seams, grooves, open areas, and narrow
spaces.
To Disinfect
1. Saturate a non-linting wipe with the validated disinfectant.
2. Thoroughly saturate all surfaces of the product.
3. Allow surfaces to stay visibly wet for 10 minutes. Ensure that all seams, grooves, and narrow spaces between the
leads are saturated.
To Rinse and Complete Final Inspection
4. Saturate a non-linting wipe with tap water.
5. Start at the monitor-end connector and wipe all surfaces of the product.
6. Repeat step 5 two more times, using more wipes as needed.
7. Using clean wipes, dry the entire product.
8. Visually inspect the product to ensure all surfaces are clean and dry.

responsible for the ingredients used or for any changes made to the ingredients afterwards. In case of doubt, contact
the disinfectant manufacturer.
These disinfectants have not been tested for their efficacy as a means for controlling infection. Please contact the
disinfectant manufacturer for information on efficacy and any further information. With the method described above
using 70% Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA), it has been proven that the lead sets and trunk cables are suitable for intermediate
level disinfection.
