Hydraulic pipes and connections
The hydraulic pipes connected to the module must be of a suitable size and, if possible, of the same diameter as the inlet or
outlet lines of the connector kit. The pipes of the system must be properly supported to ensure that the module is not subjected
to undue stress.
-
Loads on the electric pump, like pipes assembled on the hydraulic section, must always be supported.
ATTENTION
Use pipe supports that do not interfere in any way with the interfaces of the electric pump.
-
When installing the set, make sure that the suction and delivery pipes do not exert any stress on the
set, and that they are properly aligned.
-
Mechanical stresses on the suction or delivery sides of the electric pump can cause damage or
generate dangerous vibrations during operation.
-
Mechanical stresses on the (hydraulic, etc.) parts of the electric pump due to incorrect installation can
cause damage.
Make sure that air cannot enter the inlet line and create the "siphon" effect: this can cause the pumps
-
to deprime!
The weight of the pipes and tanks increases when they are filled with water. Before starting the set, make sure you have closed
and tightened all the unused couplings.
The suction pipe of each pump must have the least possible number of elbows. Any bends must be wide and positioned
horizontally or with a steady upward gradient towards the pump to prevent the formation of air pockets in the pipe.
In the case of positive suction head installations (refer to para 10.6.2.2 EN 12845) with more than one service pump, the inlet
lines can be interconnected if fitted with on-off valves so that each pump can still run when another is removed for the purposes
of maintenance. The inlet pipes of the pumps of suction lift installations must NOT be interconnected.
In the case of a jockey pump for a suction lift installation (refer to para 10.6.2.6 EN 12845), the inlet pipe and its fitting/valve
MUST be independent of the one for the main service pumps.
The pumps are equipped with a coupling for the re-circulation pipe, to be connected to a discharge outlet or to the tank in order
to prevent flooding during operation.
Further information: refer to the manual of the electric pump.
