ENDOSCOPY

It may happen that the probe tip is hidden in
folds of the edematous tissue. Endoscopes with a
5° to 15° viewing angle offer a better visualization
of the probe tip in the near range of the endoscope.
W h e n u s i n g u r e t e r o s c o p e s , i t i s
recommended to use a handpiece guidance to
obtain a proper probe to endoscope alignment
and to limit the extension of the probes beyond
the endoscope tip. Guiding adapters can be
purchased from EMS for the most common models
of ureteroscopes.
Ensure that the tip of the pneumatic or ultra-
sound probe does not extend beyond the tip of the
endoscope by more than 10 to 20 mm when it is
fully inserted in the endoscope working channel.
Risk of mucosal perforation: When using a
0.8 mm or 1.0 mm pneumatic probe with an uretero-
scope, it is recommended to adjust (if needed)
the length of the probe to the endoscope length.
Contact the EMS after sales service to adjust the
probe length to fit a particular endoscope.
Adjusting the length of the probe and using
a guiding adapter will help limit the risk of perfo-
ration and reducing energy loss, particularly with
thin probes.
To avoid damage to the endoscope, the
probes should not be activated with their tip still
inside the working channel of the endoscope.

Il peut arriver que l'extrémité de la broche
soit cachée dans les plis du tissu oedémateux.
Des endoscopes avec un angle de vision de 5° à
15° offrent une meilleure vision de la pointe de la
broche dans la focale rapprochée de l'endoscope.
Lors de l'utilisation d'un urétéroscope, il
est recommandé d'utiliser un guidage de pièce à
main afin d'obtenir un bon alignement de la broche
sur l'endoscope et limiter le dépassement de la
broche au bout de l'endoscope. Des adaptateurs
de guidage peuvent être obtenus auprès d'EMS
pour les modèles d'urétéroscopes courants.
Assurez-vous que l'extrémité de la broche
pneumatique ou à ultrason ne dépasse pas de
plus de 10 à 20 mm l'extrémité de l'endoscope
lorsqu'elle est complètement introduite dans le
canal opérateur de l'endoscope.
Risque de perforation des muqueuses: En
utilisant une broche pneumatique de 0,8 mm ou de
1,0 mm avec un urétéroscope, il est recommandé
d'adapter (si nécessaire) la longueur de la broche
à l'endoscope. Contacter le service après vente
EMS pour ajuster la longueur de la broche à un
endoscope particulier.
L'adaptation de la longueur de la broche
ainsi que l'utilisation d'un adaptateur de guidage
limitent les risques de perforation et réduisent
les pertes d'énergie, particulièrement pour les
broches fines.
Pour ne pas endommager l'endoscope, les
broches ne doivent pas être activées avec leur
pointe encore à l'intérieur du canal opérateur de
l'endoscope.

Bei Verwendung von Ureteroskopen

die Sonde ordnungsgemäss am Endoskop
a u s z u r i c h t e n u n d d i e A u s d e h n u n g d e r
Sonden über die Endoskopspitze hinaus zu
begrenzen. Führungsadapter für die häufigsten
Ureteroskopmodelle können von EMS erworben
werden.
Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Spitze der
Stosswellen- oder Ultraschallsonde nicht weiter
als 10 bis 20 mm über die Spitze des Endoskops
hinausragt, wenn sie vollständig in den Endoskop-
Arbeitskanal eingeführt ist.
Gefahr von Schleimhautperforation:
Bei Verwendung einer Stosswellensonde von
0,8 mm oder 1,0 mm mit einem Ureteroskop wird
empfohlen, ggf. die Länge der Sonde auf die
Endoskoplänge einzustellen. Wenden Sie sich an
den Kundendienst von EMS, um die Sondenlänge
an ein bestimmtes Endoskop anzupassen.
Durch das Anpassen der Sondenlänge
und die Verwendung eines Führungsadapters
lassen sich Perforationsgefahr und Energieverlust
begrenzen, insbesondere bei dünnen Sonden.
Um eine Beschädigung des Endoskops
zu vermeiden, sollten die Sonden nicht aktiviert
werden, wenn sich ihre Spitze noch im Arbeitskanal
des Endoskops befindet.
