Gaseous Fuel Recommendations
Explosive Fuel can cause fi res
and severe burns.
If a gaseous odor is detected,
ventilate area and contact an
authorized service technician.
LPG is extremely fl ammable and is heavier
than air and tends to settle in low areas
where a spark or fl ame could ignite gas. Do
not start or operate this engine in a poorly
ventilated area where leaking gas could
accumulate and endanger safety of persons
in area.
NG is extremely fl ammable, is lighter than air,
and rises. Do not start or operate this engine
in a poorly ventilated area where leaking gas
could accumulate and endanger safety of
persons in area.
To ensure personal safety, installation and
repair of LPG/NG fuel supply systems must
be performed only by qualifi ed LPG/NG
system technicians. Improperly installed and
maintained LPG/NG equipment could cause
fuel supply system or other components to
malfunction, causing gas leaks.
Observe federal, state and local laws
governing LPG/NG fuel, storage, and
systems.
NOTE: This engine is certifi ed to operate on
commercial propane (per GPA STD
2140). If you have any questions,
contact your propane supplier. LP
mixtures containing higher than 5%
propylene should NOT be used. This
engine is certifi ed to operate on NG.
Compressed natural gas (CNG) should
not be used.
LPG
Propane from an appropriate propane fuel tank
(supplied separately) can be used to operate
this engine.
NG
NG from an approved system or source of
supply can be used to operate this engine.

LPG Operation
For LPG tanks, verify that output pressure is as
shown in table.
NG Operation
Verify that output pressure from primary gas
utility pressure regulator is as shown in table,
and that utility gas meter fl ow rate is suffi cient
to supply engine at rated load plus all other
gas-consuming appliances.

Fuel Conversion

NOTE: When switching from one fuel to
another, battery must be temporarily
disconnected for safety. Turn selector
valve to appropriate fuel. Shut off fuel
supply before any servicing is
performed.
NOTE: Do not adjust factory-set screw on
selector valve. Adjusting this screw
may violate federal and state laws.
Fuel selector valve allows fi eld conversion
between natural gas (NG) and LPG. This valve
is factory set to comply with applicable emission
standards and to provide best possible hot and
cold starting.
Gasoline Operation
Ensure fuel tank is fi lled with proper gasoline
(see Fuel Recommendations in gasoline
owner's manual). Ensure threaded cap is
installed/reinstalled into gaseous fuel fi tting on
carburetor.
LPG Operation
If engine was previously run on gasoline, turn
that fuel supply OFF, then start engine and run
until carburetor is emptied of fuel.
Remove threaded cap from gaseous fuel fi tting
of carburetor. Connect gaseous fuel line to
fi tting and position hose clamp to secure.
Ensure that fuel selector valve on regulator is
turned to LP position.
NG Operation
If engine was previously run on gasoline, turn
that fuel supply OFF, then start engine and run
until carburetor is emptied of fuel.
Remove threaded cap from gaseous fuel fi tting
of carburetor. Connect gaseous fuel line to
fi tting and position hose clamp to secure.
Ensure that fuel selector valve on regulator is
turned to NG position.
