Drying and Lubrication
8.6.1
Required Materials
• Compressed air;
• Soft, low-lint cloth;
Thoroughly dry all parts of the scaler
handpiece, scaler nose cone, and light
pipe by blowing them with compressed
air;
CAUTION: The scaler handpiece
electrical contacts must be dry at the
start and end of the sterilisation cycle,
before the cord is connected to the
appliance. Always make sure that the
electrical contacts of the connector
are perfectly dry, if necessary dry them
blowing with compressed air.
CAUTION: Before starting the
sterilisation cycle, make sure that
the insert is thoroughly dry both
internally and externally. To do so, blow
compressed air both externally and
through the internal through-hole. This
will prevent the appearance of stains,
streaks on the surface, or oxidation
inside the insert.
