2.1 INTENDED USE
This machine has been designed and constructed for the following operations only:
• to cut grass and non-woody vegetation using the strimmer head;
• to cut tall grasses, twigs and reeds with the aid of discs;
• to be used by just one operator.
2.2 IMPROPER USE
All uses not included in paragraph 2.1 are to be considered improper uses, including but not limited
to the following:
• using the machine to sweep, by tilting the strimmer head.
WARNING
The cutting device can project objects and small stones up to 15 meters or more, causing
damage to property or personal injury.
• trimming hedges or other works in which the cutting device is not used at ground level;
• pruning trees;
• cutting materials of non-vegetable origin;
• use of cutting devices other than those recommended by the Manufacturer (par. 15.2);
• using the machine as a lever to lift, move or break objects;
• using saw discs.
2.3 RESIDUAL RISKS
Despite the care taken by the Manufacturer in compliance with all safety requirements, the
existence of residual risks that cannot be eliminated remains. These include:
• Projection of materials which could cause injury to the eyes.
• Hearing damage if no hearing protection is worn.
• Contact with hot parts.
• Operator falling.
2.4 PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)
Personal protective equipment (PPE) means any equipment intended to be worn by the worker in
order to protect them from one or more risks likely to compromise safety or health at work, as well
as any device or accessory intended for this purpose.
The use of PPE does not eliminate the risk of injury, but it reduces the effects of in the event of an
accident.
Below is the list of PPE to be used when using the machine:
• Wear safety shoes with non-slip soles and steel toecaps.
• Wear protective goggles or a face shield.
• Use noise protection devices; for example ear defenders or plugs.
• Wear gloves that allow maximum absorption of vibrations.
• Wear type-approved protective clothing.
