NOTE
Only prepare the necessary mixture for use; do not leave it in the tank or can for a long time.
We recommend the use of Emak ADDITIX 2000 fuel stabiliser cod. 001000972, to preserve the
mixture for a period of 12 months.
7.2 REFUELLING
1. Place the fuel in an approved fuel container and shake.
2. Place the machine on the ground in a free area, stop the engine and allow it to cool before
refuelling.
3. Clean the surface around the fuel cap (Fig. 1.7) to avoid contamination.
4. Loosen the fuel cap (Fig. 1.7) slowly to release the pressure and to prevent fuel from escaping.
5. Carefully pour the fuel mixture into the tank making sure that none is spilt in the process.
6. Clean and check the gasket.
7. Securely tighten the fuel cap (Fig. 1.7) after refuelling.
WARNING
Vibrations can cause the cap to loosen and fuel to leak out.
8. Dry any fuel which may have leaked out. Move the machine to a distance of 3 meters from the
refuelling site before starting the engine.
DANGER
• Never try to burn off any spilled fuel under any circumstances.
• Do not remove the fuel cap when the engine is running.
• Do not use fuel for cleaning operations.
WARNING
• Do not store the fuel in places with dry leaves, straw, paper, etc.
• Store the machine and fuel in places where fuel vapours do not come in contact with sparks
or open flames, water heaters, electric engines or switches, ovens, etc.
• Pay careful attention not to spill fuel on your clothing.
• Store the fuel in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place.
8 PRELIMINARY OPERATIONS
8.1 WORKING AREA
Thoroughly inspect the entire work area and remove anything that could be thrown from the
machine or damage the cutting device.
8.2 HARNESS
Correct adjustment of the harness allows the machine to be balanced correctly and be at a suitable
height from the ground (Fig. 8).
