3. Use leather gloves when handling the rail ends and when inserting the bronze charge
strips into the carrier. Sharp edges of the metal may cut bare hands.
RAIL CUTTING GUIDELINES

5. Always turn the carriage circuit breaker OFF
and ground your body to bare metal before
plugging in any wire harness to the PC board or
when touching the PC board. Static charge can
damage electronic components.
6. Always turn the carriage circuit breaker OFF
when working around the drive gear to prevent
accidental entanglement.

PRE-INSTALLATION
1. NEVER cut a rail shorter than 24" (610 mm).
Rails shorter than 24" (610 mm) do not have
room for the minimum two (2) rail brackets.
NOTE: Folding rail assembly - NEVER
cut a folding rail assembly
shorter than 75" (1905mm).
2. In two rail installations, if cutting only one
rail would result in a length less than 24"
(610 mm), cut from both rails as follows:
a. Cut at least 12" (305 mm) off one rail.
b. Then, calculate the second rail's length by
04/13
subtracting the length of the newly cut rail
from the required overall two-rail length
(should be greater than 24"/610 mm).
3. Do not cut rail ends you plan to use for
joining two sections together in order to
preserve the factory fit at the joint.
4. For a precise and efficient cut, Bruno
recommends the use of a cut-off saw
Equip cut-off saw (or other power saw)
with a metal-cutting blade suitable for
aluminum and steel.
1. In multiple-rail installations, use a minimum
of two (2) rail brackets to support each rail
section.
2. In single-rail installations, use a minimum
of three (3) rail brackets to support rail.
[This is typically rail-run lengths of ten feet
(3 m) or less].
3. In folding rail installations, use a minimum
of two (2) rail brackets to support any
mid-rail section.
Do not include in this count, the fixed rail
bracket (first tread) at the folding joint.
4. No more than three (3) steps in a row
without a rail bracket.
