overtighten as you may damage the gasket). Both areas around the plugs and
where it is dirty from oil should be thoroughly cleaned and degreased, e.g. with
extraction gasoline.
3.4.5 Maintenance of lubrication points
If there are lubrication points on the gearbox housing with grease nipples, these
points must be lubricated regularly according to the maintenance schedule by
injecting special waterproof joint grease ("marine type") into the nipples with a
grease gun.
3.4.6 Air filter
According to the maintenance schedule, the air filter should be cleaned regularly
and replaced with a new one if necessary. In the MSW-MOE-G-1.5 and MSW-
MOE-G-6.5 it should also be cleaned if it is flooded with oil as a result of incorrect
motor positioning. Generally do not clean normally used filters with any chemical
agents, only blow them out with compressed air with not too high pressure (2 bar).
If the filter is damaged, replace it with a new one. For safety reasons it is also
recommended to inspect and clean the filter after every long idle period of the
motor.
The MSW-MOE-G-2.5 model has a panel air filter - its inspection consists in
blowing it with compressed air (2 bar) from its inlet side to the throttle or - if
necessary - replacing it with a new one. Do not clean it with any chemicals and if
it is flooded, it must be replaced with a new one!
To access the air filter, remove the filter housing by unscrewing the screw holding
it in place. In MSW-MOE-G-1.5 the filter is stretched over special corners and
surrounds the throttle inlet and suction shutter. Before the first start-up, check
that it is fitted correctly - it should be as shown in the image below.
