11.1.2 Settings of the VAG- Process
Before you carry out the VAG- Process, a basic modification of
the menu 'Setup and Maintenance' has to be performed. Please
choose the setting 'Manufacturer', which is equivalent to the
official databank.
This step is described in the Installation Instruction 1 689 978
435N in chapter 4.14 (VAG-Process for chassis with multilink
axle).
11.1.3 Selection and realisation of the VAG- Process
In order to run the VAG - Process it is essential to select the
official databank. The access to the official databank can be
reached eather by modifications in the setup (see Installation
Instructions 1 689 978 435N in chapter 4.14) or by utilizing the
button
(official databank) in the left menu bar. Using this
button is only necessary, if modifications in the setup are not yet
performed.
The following screen differs for the first time from the standard
process. Please lift the car (this demand is not valid, if you want
to run a push- mode run out compensation) and mount the sensor
heads, before you proceed with the next process step.

In the next step you have to check the load and the fuel level of the
car according to the specifications on the screen.

Consecutively you have to proceed the run out compensation
(ROC) as normal with the standard process. Furthermore both
the pedal depressor has to be put and the turntables have to be
unlocked, before you can start the wheel alignment with the
steering procedure.
Having performed the steering wheel procedure, the software
requests the correct position of the steering wheel. If this is not
the case, a working note (crooked steering wheel) will be written
down on the datasheet.
If you proceed with the process, you recieve a data summary of
the previous values.

Subsequently you can start with the adjustments.
Now you are prompted to position the steering wheel correctly.
Therefore please use the steering clamp. Furthermore it is helpful
to use a steering wheel level, wich is offered as special accesso-
ries with the catalogue no 1 987 009 A70N or 1 987 000 A74N.
