Troubleshooting
Risk of injuries or material damage
¾ In case of doubt always take your mower to a specialist workshop.
¾ Switch the device off prior to all checks and all work on the cutting blades.
¾ Protect yourself against injury by doing the following prior to all performing work on the device:
- Switch off the engine
- Remove the ignition key
- Engage the parking brake
- Wait until all rotating parts have come to a standstill
- Wait until the engine has cooled down
- Pull the spark plug connector off the engine so that the engine cannot inadvertently start.
Problem
Starter does not turn.
Starter does not turn.
Starter turns but engine
does not start.
Engine producing smoke.
Strong vibrations.
Cutter deck does not
discharge grass or cuts
unevenly.
Engine is running, cutter
deck is not mowing.
Troubleshooting
Possible cause
Safety locking system has actuated.
Battery not connected correctly.
Discharged or low battery.
Fuse has tripped.
Loose earth cable between engine and
frame.
Choke and throttle in wrong position.
Carburettor not receiving any fuel, fuel
tank empty.
Defective or dirty spark plug.
No ignition spark.
Too much engine oil in the engine.
Engine defective.
Damaged blade shaft or defective cutter.
Engine speed too low.
Travelling speed too high.
Cutting blade is blunt.
V-belt torn.
WARNING!
Remedy
Sit on the driver's seat and engage the
parking brake.
Switch the PTO off.
Connect red cable to the (+) battery
terminal and the black cable to the (–)
battery terminal.
Check and charge the battery.
If necessary, replace the battery.
Replace the fuse.
If the fuse trips repeatedly, check for the
cause.
Connect the earth cable.
Actuate the choke. Set the throttle to
.
Top up fuel.
Check the spark plug (see engine
manual).
Arrange for the ignition to be checked in
a service centre.
Switch the device off immediately.
Check the engine oil level.
Switch the device off immediately.
Have the engine checked in a service
centre.
Switch the device off immediately.
Have defective parts replaced in a
service centre.
Put your foot down further on the accel-
erator.
Choose a lower driving speed.
Have the cutting blades sharpened or
replaced by a service centre.
Have the V-belt replaced in a service
centre.
