7.1.8 PROGRAMMING THE DOSES
FOR SELF-LEARNING
• Insert the portafilter (10 - Fig. 4.1) with the dose of
ground coffee in the dispensing group.
• Select one of the coffee groups (e.g. group3).
• The display of the selected dispensing group will show
the numbers corresponding to the buttons.
• Select the self-learning icon.
NB: The self-learning phase is highlighted by a
red border and the sound of the buzzer.
• Place the cup(s) underneath the portafilter spout(s).
• From the dispensing group, select the dispensing but-
ton you want to program (e.g. button 1).
• The icon of the selected button will be highlighted on
the dispensing group display.

• When the required dose is reached in the cup(s), press
the same dispensing button again.
• To alter the dose programmed with self-learning, select
the programmed dispensing button (e.g. button 1) on
the services display.
7.1.9 ENERGY SAVING MODE
To activate energy saving mode, press button 5 - Fig. 7.1.
In energy saving mode:
• the ENERGY SAVING MODE message will appear on
the services display
• the brightness of the display is reduced
• the cup-warmer heating level is automatically set at 1
• if the water heater pressure is set at a value higher
than 1.2 bar, the level is lowered to 0.8 bar
• if the water heater pressure is set at a value lower than
1.2 bar, the set level is reduced by 0.4 bar
Press any dispensing button to quit energy saving mode
and return to the working phase of the appliance.

1. Rear LED bar button: press to activate the perma-
nent lighting of the rear bar. The 24/7 icon indicates
that the function is active.
2. Rear LED bar: used to switch the rear LED bar on
and off.
