• Pour 5g of detergent powder (about 2 coffee spoon-
fuls) into the portafilter.
• Insert the portafilter (10 - Fig. 4.1) in group 1.
• Press the icon.
• The group 1 washing cycle will begin.
• The services display shows the WASHING GR 1 mes-
sage, with the progress percentage.

• At the end of the washing cycle on group 1, the RE-
MOVE PORTAFILTER GROUP 1 message is dis-
played.
• Release the portafilter (10 - Fig. 4.1) from group 1.
• Press the icon.

• The group 1 rinsing cycle will begin.
• The RINSING GR1 message is displayed, with the pro-
gress percentage.

• At the end of the rinsing phase, the coffee circuit wash-
ing cycle is complete.
• Repeat these steps on all the groups that you want to
wash.
8.3 CHANGING THE WATER
IN THE WATER HEATER
WARNING: The water in the water heater must
be changed at least once a day.
• Press the icon to access the main screen of the
services display.
• Press icon 1 - Fig. 5.5 to enter the programming menu.
• Press the Change icon (11 - Fig. 7.1) in the program-
ming menu.
• The services display shows the CHANGE WATER mes-
sage and the water is drained from the water heater
(60-70% of the total capacity) via the hot water dis-
penser (6 - Fig. 4.1). Dispensing ends automatically.
• At the end of the dispensing, the appliance returns to
its normal operation and the water heater is filled with
fresh water.
